Most business owners are familiar with the perils and pitfalls of turning an idea into a living, breathing business. The constant back and forth between multiple state and local government agencies – each with different websites and requirements – paired with keeping up with ever-changing laws, policies and rules, makes starting a business no easy task. Aware of the problem, and seeking a solution, the State of New Mexico enacted the One-Stop Business Portal Act in 2014. This act mandated that the New Mexico Department of Information Technology (DoIT) develop a user-friendly website that provides access to information and tools to set up and maintain a business in New Mexico.
The New Mexico Business Portal (NMBP) launched in 2017 as a one-stop shop for both aspiring and current business owners looking for important business planning, initiation and licensing information for starting, maintaining or expanding a business in New Mexico. To publicize the launch of the new website, The Waite Company (TWC) was contracted by DoIT to provide public relations and marketing service for NMBP.
TWC was responsible for producing a variety of public relations, marketing, digital advertising and design elements for a full-force integrated campaign both before and after the NMBP launch.
